The Home Birth of Sedona Rae in Phoenix, Arizona
There is NOTHING quite like strolling through Target with your kids, looking at Legos and getting a text from a dad that says “Hey, she’s 9 cms”. When I say that I briskly made my way towards the exit doors, I mean I SPRINTED. We threw everything we had in the cart back onto the shelves (Sorry Target!) and for the doors we headed! I dropped off my children off, and drove at the appropriate speed limit to their home. ;) I made it with plenty of time to spare and this is the beautiful story of baby S coming into the world!
This mama worked very hard to push her baby out, and even harder to work against a shoulder dystocia. The baby was born with excellent heart rate but needed help taking her first breaths.
What a comfortable place to give birth in your own bed in your own home, surrounded by the people who you love and love you most.
The calm rest after all the hard work they both endured together through birth.
